Incentive-based wellness programs gain ground in Dayton

The number of Dayton, Ohio, employees participating in incentive-based wellness plans is growing by 25% to 30% per year, says Scott McGohan, CEO of McGohan Brabender, a local benefits brokerage firm. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield offers lower employee health insurance premiums for taking a health risk assessment and pledging not to use tobacco, while Hospice of Dayton reimburses workers for gym memberships, home fitness gear and weight management programs.
