Study: Health groups lag behind recommended ICD-10 timelines

A Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange study found that 75% of providers and about two-thirds of payers say they will not be prepared to meet the recommended testing date of January 2013 for the required ICD-10 code sets. Survey respondents said electronic health record implementation and other industry mandates requiring budget and personnel have hampered ICD-10 compliance.
