Study: Health groups lag recommended ICD-10 timelines

A Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange study found that although most vendors say they are confident of delivering software products in time for clients to meet the ICD-10 compliance deadline, 75% of providers and about two-thirds of payers say they will not be prepared to meet the recommended testing date of January 2013. "These results are showing that the industry is not progressing quickly enough on the timeline to assure us that they will be ready in October 2013," WEDI President and CEO Jim Schuping said.
