TSMC is quickly adopting 28nm process manufacturing

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. is rapidly moving into production of chips with 28-nanometer linewidths, getting ready to make ICs with those smaller dimensions for Advanced Micro Devices, Altera, Nvidia, Qualcomm and Xilinx. "The number of tape-outs on 28nm compared to 40nm has been triple at the same stage of production," said Maria Marced, president of TSMC Europe.
