SMBs test cheaper alternatives to Google AdWords

Google AdWords is an effective but expensive way for small businesses to win traffic, writes Jeff John Roberts. A new crop of ad companies, such as Outbrain and Virurl, use social media instead of search ads to broadcast brands' ads, generating incoming traffic at a fraction of the price charged by Google.
