Beverages drive c-store sales

Packaged beverages accounted for 18.8% of gross profit dollar contribution for c-stores in 2012, according to recent data from NACS, and sales have increased 20% in the last three years. Energy drinks, super-premium water and single-serve carbonated drinks are driving the growth. A recent Wells Fargo survey found non-alcoholic beverage sales were up 2.6% in the third quarter of 2013 compared to the same period in 2012.
