Art, music and physical-education classes -- as well as registered nurses for schools -- could be eliminated in a Scottsdale, Ariz., school district after voters rejected bond proposals that would have temporarily raised taxes by an average of $7 a month for homeowners. The district already has made previous cuts to teaching positions, salaries and stipends, but said the defeat of the bonds means additional cuts for schools.
