Ill. to use wind-generated electricity at rest area

Illinois plans to build a wind turbine to supply electricity to the Mississippi Rapids Rest Area on Interstate 80, awarding Laverdiere Construction the contract for the $195,682 project. The turbine is due to go online in the spring, which will make the MRRA the first rest area in the state to run solely on wind power.
