Kan. regulators approve Grain Belt Express transmission line for wind energy

The Kansas Corporation Commission approved the proposed 600-kilovolt Grain Belt Express transmission line that will supply wind power from western Kansas to Indiana and other possible markets in the region. To be supplied by Clean Line Energy, about half of the 750 miles of transmission line will be in Kansas, with the route running through Ford, Hodgeman and several counties, then through Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. Approval from these other states, however, has yet to be obtained.
