Lupus patients on hydroxychloroquine gain some diabetes protection

Research presented at the American College of Rheumatology meeting showed hydroxychloroquine was associated with reduced risk of new-onset diabetes in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. However, researchers said a BMI above 30 appeared to strongly predict diabetes onset in SLE patients.
