Marvel Comics to bring Kamala Khan, a female Muslim superhero, to life

Marvel Comics is readying a new series featuring a teenage Muslin girl named Kamala Khan, a shape-shifting superhero who goes by the name of Ms. Marvel. Marvel editors Sana Amanat and Steve Wacker are spearheading the series, which will be written by G. Willow Wilson and debut in February. "She's strong, beautiful and doesn't have any of the baggage of being Pakistani and 'different,'" Wilson said of the teenage character.
