Report: North American drillers should disclose more data on fracking operations

BP, ExxonMobil and other North American energy producers should provide more data about their efforts to mitigate hydraulic fracturing-related risks, a report from nonprofit groups said. Twenty-four companies were assessed, but none reported data on even 50% of the 32 risk indicators, according to the report. "Hydraulic fracturing operations are under intense scrutiny for potential harm to neighboring communities and the environment -- from air and water pollution to increased noise, traffic and crime," said Danielle Fugere, president of the As You Sow Foundation.
