Va. governor-elect says first executive order will address LGBT discrimination

Terry McAuliffe, who was elected governor of Virginia on Tuesday, has promised that his first executive order will aim to protect LGBT state workers against discrimination. He made the announcement during a Wednesday news conference in which he introduced his gubernatorial transition team. McAuliffe, a Democrat, had foreshadowed the executive order while campaigning, saying in April that he would "make sure that every single individual in the commonwealth of Virginia is treated fair and equal."
