Google beefs up radio ad sales

Google's radio ad sales unit, formed with the purchase of dMarc Broadcasting in January, is expanding its sales force and looking to make deals with radio networks -- all with an eye toward making the production, sale and insertion of radio ads as simple for a small business as placing an online text ad. Some radio sales executives are concerned about the automated approach. Cumulus Media's CEO told The Wall Street Journal, "the Google approach ... represents the antithesis of value-added selling."
