HHS requests info on genomic testing, health care IT

The HHS issued a request for information from private and public companies on plans to use health IT to store or share genetic information and how it can be used to improve care. "Advances in medicine, biomedical science, and technology present opportunities for enabling health care practices to be increasingly patient-specific by taking into account individual differences in health states, disease processes, and outcomes from interventions," an HHS official said.
