Ontario contractor fined in fatal roof collapse

Ontario contractor Priestly Demolition Inc. has been fined $178,000 for its role in the fatal roof collapse of a theater being demolished in 2003. The collapse killed one student and injured 17 others. Additionally, authorities found that the mechanical shears operator was not familiar with the building's internal roof structure and cut the top structural member of the roof's main western truss.
