Palestinian teachers return to class

About 40,000 Palestinian teachers ended a nearly two-month-old strike Tuesday, following the government's promise to pay civil servants' salaries, which it had not funded since it assumed power in March. The strike had forced nearly 800,000 children to miss school, although about 300,000 were able to continue their studies at private schools or at U.N. schools in refugee camps.
