Florida offers some GED graduates a lower-level diploma

Florida high-school seniors who want to graduate by taking a general-equivalency test will receive a lower-level diploma -- known as an equivalency diploma -- instead of a regular diploma under a new state policy. The change also means that Florida students who graduate with such a GED will not be counted in the state's high-school graduation rate.
