Minn. company develops modular ethanol-making system

Easy Energy Systems has developed a self-contained ethanol maker that can use waste paper and other kinds of feedstock. The Modular Ethanol Production System can be customized to have a capacity of as much as 5 million gallons, and its factory-made components allow it to be assembled faster and cheaper than a conventional ethanol plant, said Jayden Grupe, EES operations manager. The modular system makes about 2.8 gallons of ethanol per bushel of corn and uses about 2.5 gallons of water per gallon of ethanol, Grupe added.
