Canadian REITs are following a similar trajectory to their counterparts in the U.S., with companies raising record levels of new equity thanks to low interest rates and investors seeking solid yields. In October alone, there were six secondary offerings by REITs. "Investor appetite for REIT secondary offerings has been very robust," according to Roman Dubczak, head of equity capital markets at CIBC World Markets. He believes this will remain the case until interest rates start to rise. Another cloud on the horizon: Some analysts feel prices are peaking in Canada.
