Commentary: S.D. ethanol makers to gain from E15 waiver

South Dakota's ethanol industry will benefit from the federal decision to allow E15 for vehicles built since 2007, according to outgoing Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin. While it is important to boost the market for ethanol, writes Sandlin, it is also vital for Congress to roll out policies that will allow corn ethanol to better compete with petroleum products. Congress needs to spur the deployment of flexible-fuel vehicles, blender pumps and ethanol pipelines, she adds.
