Growing pains as Starbucks builds single-cup business

Starbucks' announcement last week that it plans to break away from bagged-coffee distributor Kraft and strike out on its own spurred a flurry of back-and-forth shots by the companies over what it will take to unravel their deal. Long term, the shift could mean new partnerships for Starbucks as it seeks to build its sales of single-cup coffee offerings.
