Insect shelters help enhance the productivity of the garden

Insect hotels improve the biodiversity of the garden by providing protection and warmth for beneficial garden bugs when winter kicks in. First seen in Europe, these little dwellings are mostly made of wood and organic material. To attract insects to the structure, one expert recommends putting plants from the salvia family near the housing.
