Race is on for $200 million in commercial space contracts

NASA has set a Dec. 13 deadline for commercial space companies interested in competing for $200 million in fixed-price development contracts. SpaceX and Virgin Galactic are believed to be interested in the Round 2 competition, after initial contracts totaling $50 million went to Boeing, Bigelow Aerospace and Sierra Nevada Corp.
