Twitter watchers say they have noticed an intriguing development: The location for Twitter's headquarters on the site's Places feature is now marked as having been "claimed by" the company. The company says it isn't letting brands claim locations, but that the feature may become available in the future. Letting brands claim locations could position Twitter for a pushback against the location offerings of rivals Facebook and Foursquare, analysts note. "It could give businesses a new avenue to promote themselves on Twitter, and it could lead to new revenue possibilities for the microblogging service," writes Ben Parr.
