Generational wealth gap is widest on record, study finds

The wealth gap between young and old generations is the widest ever, an analysis of Census Bureau data by the Pew Research Center shows. A typical U.S. household headed by someone 65 or older has a net worth 47 times as much as a typical household headed by someone under 35, according to the study. The wealth gap is more than double what it was in 2005, after adjusting for inflation.
