How to best serve students who are gifted

Gifted-education teacher and coordinator Anthony Colucci suggests in this article how teachers can best serve students who are gifted. For starters, Colucci recommends educators become familiar with the definition of giftedness in their state and work to identify students who qualify for special programs, as well as those who could benefit from other supports. In the classroom, Colucci suggests teachers differentiate instruction for these students and maintain appropriate expectations for what they are capable of doing.
