Metformin slightly affects exercise efficacy in prediabetes

A study in Diabetes Care found that insulin sensitivity in patients with prediabetes was significantly higher in those who underwent metformin treatment and exercise trainings with either placebo or metformin, compared with those who had placebo treatments alone. However, adding metformin appeared to slightly lessen the effect of exercise training on insulin sensitivity, researchers said.
