Report highlights innovation barriers among primary care providers

About 25% of primary care providers are 56 years old or older, so new business and delivery models are needed to meet future care demands and patient needs, according to a California Healthcare Foundation report. Among the innovation barriers mentioned in the report were inadequate distribution of providers and lack of funds for care coordination or education programs.
