Senate holds stakeholder hearing on NCLB reform

A U.S. Senate committee heard testimony from teachers, principals and school superintendents Wednesday about the legislation it approved last month reforming No Child Left Behind. Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, who cosponsored the bill, said it offers a compromise, but critics argue that it gives the federal government too much control. A full Senate vote has not been scheduled.
