Small-business owners grew more confident in October

U.S. small businesses were more upbeat about their economic prospects in October, according to the latest Small Business Optimism Index from the National Federation of Independent Business. It was the second month in a row the index showed an increase in optimism. However, the uptick was partly because of a decrease in the number of business owners who felt the economy would worsen in the near future, NFIB reports.
