ST adds energy-harvesting memories that can run without batteries

STMicroelectronics has introduced the M24LR16E, a wireless memory for applications in near-field communication and radio-frequency identification. The device has the capability to harvest energy from ambient radio waves, enabling it to run without a battery and to power other ICs.
