W.Va. retains cracker potential despite Chesapeake's ethane-pipeline plans

Chesapeake and Enterprise Products Partners are planning to send ethane from West Virginia to Texas, drawing criticism from West Virginia Commerce Secretary Keith Burdette, who said that "every barrel of ethane that is shipped to the Gulf Coast means jobs and investment there and not here." Bayer is still studying West Virginia's potential for an ethane cracker, said company spokesman Bryan Iams.
