Staff members at an Alabama veterinary clinic are undergoing post-exposure rabies prophylaxis after a dog left anonymously at their clinic exposed them to rabies. The chow mix was dropped off in the clinic's enclosed kennel area, and the dog bit one of the employees. As is standard procedure when an animal's owner isn't known, the dog was euthanized and tested for rabies. The test results were positive. Officials are urging the owners to come forward because they could have contracted rabies, which is fatal if untreated.
