"Light trucks average more aftermarket product use per-vehicle than do passenger cars on U.S. roads. Adjusting for vehicle age-mix differences, light trucks consume approximately 35% more aftermarket products per-vehicle than the typical car. Despite a decline in light truck sales share during 2008 and 2009, light trucks have regained most of that lost ground and their strong sales prior to 2008 mean they will comprise a large portion of vehicles in the repair-age sweet spot (six to 10 years old) through 2017, boosting aftermarket volume over the next five years."
