Forecasts look ahead to 2014 food trends

Chicken prices are waning as supplies rise this year, but that isn't stopping eateries from going more upscale with their poultry offerings, according to a 2014 forecast from Baum + Whiteman. A separate forecast from Andrew Freeman & Co. predicts restaurants will turn away from poultry in favor of more exotic meats including goat. Also predicted to be on the plate next year: anchovies, fish cheeks, Asian and Turkish flavors and ice cream sandwiches for dessert.
