Milk processors mix up packaging, focus on protein

Fluid milk processors saw the per capita consumption of milk in the U.S. fall to its lowest levels in 2011, according to the International Dairy Foods Association, due in part to smaller family sizes and consumer preferences for on-the-go meals. In response, milk processors are switching to smaller, reusable packaging and emphasizing milk's protein content to win back consumers.
