Mo. health system expands telemedicine services with Philips Healthcare

Mercy in St. Louis, Mo., will add new medical and surgical hospital units to expand its telehealth programs with Philips Healthcare. The health system aims to unveil the acute care initiative by next April to reduce readmissions, boost patient safety, enhance patient satisfaction and implement clinical best practices. "Adding acute care telehealth services is a natural extension of our successful eICU and telestroke programs, and will allow us to support our mission to provide quality care to patients in need, regardless of location," said Mercy's President and CEO Lynn Britton.
