Students across the U.S. are honoring the men and women who have served in the United States military. Nearly 1,100 students at Northeast Middle School in Clarksville, Tenn., attended a ceremony Thursday along with members of military and the mayor. Elementary-school students in Horseheads, N.Y., were visited at their school by 51 veterans. In Cheyenne, Wyo., elementary-school students marked Take a Vet to School Day by honoring local military veterans -- including Toni, a German shepherd who served as Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen's U.S. Army scout in Vietnam in the early 1970s.
