Study: Many developing countries embrace GM foods

The International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications, an Ithaca, N.Y.-based not-for-profit organization, found that trials of genetically modified corn raised yields by up to 23% in China, by up to 24% in Brazil and by up to 41% in the Philippines. Using biotech corn has economic benefits and reduces environmental impact, analysts say.
