Commentary: Some ed software distracts, rather than teaches

ZDNet blogger Paul Murphy finds that computers both take the subjectivity out of grading in certain situations and excel at giving students drilling practice, particularly in math and language. He says most interactive educational software programs, however, do more to occupy children than to teach them.
