Food labeling: Are you in compliance?

Manufacturer company regulatory and compliance staff will have two opportunities to learn the do's and don'ts of food labeling at a comprehensive workshop offered by GMA/FPA Nov. 6 to 8 in Glenview, Ill., and Dec. 5 to 6, in Washington, D.C. Instruction, interaction and hands-on exercises will give food and beverage company employees the skills they need, whether a thorough introduction to labeling rules or an intermediate refresher course. Topics to be addressed include rules governing all required label elements, and information about food label claims, both nutrition-related, and focused on other types of representations, including "organic" and "natural" claims. All workshop participants will receive course materials, references and resources, as well as breakfasts, lunches and refreshments on the course days attended.
