GERD frequently overlooked in children

GERD affects as many as 7 million children but is frequently overlooked, according to the Pediatric/Adolescent Gastroesophageal Reflux Association. GERD symptoms for children include excessive crying, coughing, sore throat, pneumonia, poor sleep patterns and irritability. Therapies typically include hypoallergenic baby formula or a dairy-free diet.
