Amtrak's Sunset Limited used to link California to Florida until Hurricane Katrina tore up the tracks in Mississippi. Amtrak made repairs, but service was not restarted east of New Orleans. The company said such service was ineffective. New legislation from Congress now says service must be restored. "Congress is, of course, one of our biggest constituents," said Cliff Black, Amtrak spokesman. "They provide considerable funding; therefore, they have considerable oversight."
