Deadline on proposed E15 blend rate may be extended, EPA chief says

The Environmental Protection Agency may need time beyond the Dec. 1 deadline to issue a ruling on a proposal to raise the allowable ethanol blend rate because the agency is still studying the test findings of the effect of higher blends on engines "across the board," Administrator Lisa Jackson said. Ethanol makers in March urged the EPA to increase the blend wall from 10% to 15%.
