Mayo Clinic, Swiss firm collaborate on remote patient monitoring

The Mayo Clinic is partnering with STMicroelectronics on a system involving a wearable device to remotely track cardiovascular disease patients. "This collaboration, by enhancing our ability to record important physiologic information while patients are outside the medical environment and active in their daily lives, will extend our ability to prevent and treat illness," said Dr. Paul Friedman, a Mayo Clinic cardiology consultant.
