New battery would last 11 times longer than lithium-ion cells

A new breed of battery being developed by Fluidic Energy could last 11 times longer than today's lithium-ion cells, according to this report. The so-called Metal-Air Ionic Liquid batteries are based on ionic liquid salt, which conducts electricity that is more stable and less likely to decay over time.
