Plan for Black Friday to prevent problems

Retailers need to plan ahead to avoid tragedies amid the Black Friday crowds, according to the National Retail Federation's new Black Friday guidelines. Signs and barriers to keep lines orderly and direct customers to sale items; wristbands or tickets distributed to customers waiting in line; store maps; and announcements are all methods that can keep crowds orderly and avoid tragedies similar to those seen on Black Friday 2008.
