Plastic beats paper in recycling advantages, ACC says

Plastic bags have been an issue of major debate, with consumers usually preferring paper bags because they are thought to be easier to recycle. But according to this blog post, plastic bags might actually be a better choice considering their overall life-cycle effect. Plastic bags cut emissions, and "they use half the emissions and use half the energy and create 80 percent less waste than paper bags," said Keith Christman, the American Chemistry Council's senior director of market advocacy.
