Power and perspective don't mix, say researchers

High-powered individuals rely too much on their own opinions and struggle to see other people's points of view, researchers say. A series of psychological experiments found that as people gained power, they lost the ability to empathize with others and tended simply to assume that other people's insights and priorities matched their own.
